Climate Change Levy (General) Regulations 2001

UK | Active Under Review
The climate change levy (CCL) was introduced in April 2001 and is a tax levied on energy suppliers in respect of levels of energy used by non-domestic consumers. The aim of the CCL is to encourage businesses to reduce energy usage, or to use energy from renewable sources. There are a number of exemptions to the CCL which apply to certain environmentally friendly forms of electricity generation.
