Introduced new powers for UK intelligence agencies and law enforcement to intercept communications (targeted and bulk). Investigatory Powers Commission created to oversee act. Communication Service Providers (CSP) required to retain UK Internet users connection records including which websites they visited (but not the pages). CSPs must also assist authorities in intercepting communications. Safeguards for sensitive professions such as journalists, lawyers and doctors. CSP or their staff may NOT disclose what data has been requested and it is an offence to unlawfully access internet data.
