GDPR is a long awaited reform of European Data Protection Laws and places new obligations on data processors to be accountable for the processing of data relating to EU citizens. New arrangements protecting children's data has been introduced, along with higher fines for non-compliance and a 72 hour reporting period. The European Union has mandated the all member states adopt the new regulations byt May 2018. The Data Protection Bill announced 07/08/17 by the Digital Minister Matt hancock.
